Waterless car washing – a video guide

Like many of us, my car has been sitting still for a while without getting any sort of TLC.  Dust and bird droppings were starting to annoy me and I found that access to water for washing the Jaguar was getting tricky.

I used to follow a 3-sponge 3-bucket system for washing my cars but I’m getting fed up with the preparation and the amount of water required.  That system also takes ages too, so I thought I’d try out a new waterless washing approach.

Having done a bit of research into this, it turns out that many of these products contain some form of silicon.  I’ve learned that this is a bad idea as it damages the paintwork over time, so I went looking for something that filled the following criteria

  • A natural product
  • No silicon of any form
  • Contains carnauba wax to ensure protection and a sparkling finish

Finally, to use the product I also needed a good quality microfibre cloth.  I bought two, both at 300GSM and each 40cm x 40cm square.

Watch the video below to see what I bought and how to use it.
